Below is a short video that captures my daily experience riding to work. Hopefully it’s the first in series of cycle-commuting videos. The video is shot with GoPro Hero2, a splendid little device.
Chicago is a great city for cycle-commuting. Where else can a cyclist, on a daily commute, ride the Lake Michigan shoreline for most of the commute? I’ve cycle-commuted to work (in the Chicago Loop) for the past four years. My ride, round-trip, is 30 miles. While at work I keep my bike safe at the Chicago Cycling Center, where I have a locker and a clean shower. I ride all year, in any weather. I know it’s a privilege to do this. Thus, I appreciate the opportunity everyday I’m on the Path.
